Job Summary

The Database Administrator 4 is a senior technical position accountable for the operational excellence and business continuity of enterprise database infrastructure. This role encompasses end-to-end database lifecycle management across hybrid cloud and on-premise environments, with responsibility for ensuring optimal availability, performance, and reliability. Key technical accountabilities include advanced performance tuning of database systems and SQL workloads to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction, as well as designing and maintaining enterprise-grade High Availability and Disaster Recovery architectures that safeguard business operations. The position requires a strategic blend of hands-on technical proficiency and architectural thinking to deliver resilient, high-performing database services that support critical business functions across multi-cloud and traditional infrastructure platforms. #India

What Your Impact Will Look Like

  • Provide and maintain detailed technical documentation on complete Database Lifecycle Management
  • Experience architecting, implementing, maintaining, and supporting DB High Availability and Diastase Recovery options
  • Experience tuning the database infrastructure to optimize Database performance
  • Maintains on-call responsibilities with responsiveness, technical accuracy and timeliness as required.
  • Must be able to identify and resolve Database Bottlenecks
  • Evaluate the impact of industry trends to our database standards
  • Work in a cross functional teams’ environment to support our Product Suite.
  • Mentor other Database Administrators
  • Technical leadership for medium to large projects
  • Implementing effective security protocols, data protection measures, and storage solutions
  • Documenting processes and preparing reports
  • Recommending and implementing improvements to processes and technologies.

You Will Love This Job If You Have

  • 10+ years Database Administration experience.
  • Hands-on experience with end-to-end Exadata infrastructure lifecycle, including hardware installation, system configuration, database deployment, and ongoing maintenance of engineered systems to optimize database performance and availability
  • Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and managing Oracle RAC environments for high availability and load balancing, with deep understanding of cluster services, interconnect optimization, and workload distribution
  • Strong analytical skills in SQL plan analysis, execution path optimization, and query rewriting to improve response times, reduce resource consumption, and enhance overall application performance
  • Proficient in enterprise Linux operating system installation, configuration, and management, including storage, networking, and security hardening for database workloads.
  • Ability to determine the impact of for industry trends on our customer base and our product catalog
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills for working across support and engineering departments
  • Experience supporting Databases in a cloud hosting infrastructure (AWS or Microsoft Azure preferred)
  • High proficiency in diagnosing and remediating complex technical issue.
  • Experience partnering with Oracle Advanced Customer Services for Exadata environment maintenance, including quarterly patch cycles, firmware upgrades, and critical security updates while maintaining zero-downtime requirements
  • Expertise in coordinating and executing complex database patching strategies across RAC and Data Guard environments, ensuring patch consistency, minimizing downtime, and maintaining disaster recovery readiness
  • Demonstrated experience deploying and supporting Oracle Standard Edition and Enterprise Edition databases in AWS cloud environments, including RDS configuration, EC2-based deployments, and cloud-native high availability solutions
