Job Summary

 

The Technical Product Owner drives the cloud and platform roadmap across 1+ teams, ensuring execution aligns with infrastructure and security best practices. Partnering with platform, security, and application teams, the TPO3 keeps a globally distributed organization aligned on standards through clear priorities, iterative improvements, and outcome‑focused backlogs. The role translates strategy into epics and stories, manages cross‑team dependencies, and collects key performance indicators of global agile teams, presenting these to senior leadership and team members. The TPO3 is experienced in observability (metrics, logs, traces, SLIs/SLOs) and works with the platform team on capacity planning and incident prevention/post‑mortems to enhance reliability.

 

 

 

What Your Impact Will Look Like

 

  • Servant Leadership: Act as a servant leader and champion of agile best practices across the teams.

  • Defining the Vision:

    • Serve as the primary owner of the product backlog for 1–2 teams.
    • Contribute to the creation and evolution of the enterprise roadmap in partnership with other product owners and engineering teams.
    • Own story refinement and acceptance criteria for 1–2 teams.
  • Iteration Planning: Prioritize backlog needs and balance scope, budget, and time at monthly, quarterly, and annual planning cycles.

  • Driving Iteration: Lead products and projects from discovery through release, accurately assessing opportunities and risks, and influencing decisions on whether to continue or pivot based on trajectory.

  • Communication:

    • Secure stakeholder buy‑in on major decisions and strategy while providing clear direction and deliverables for the engineers.
    • Define, refine, and report Key Performance Indicators that reflect team productivity, technical health, and any factors that may be impeding progress.
  • Agile Excellence: Fulfill the primary product owner role in all agile ceremonies and facilitate workshops with users and agile teams to drive alignment and learning.

  • Toolkit: Introduce and champion effective tools and practices; proficiency in Jira and Aha! (preferred).

  • Reliability & Observability: The TPO3 is experienced in observability (metrics, logs, traces, SLIs/SLOs) and works closely with the platform team on capacity planning and incident prevention/post‑mortems to enhance reliability.

 

You Will Love This Job If You Have

 

 
  • 5+ years of experience leading platform or cloud engineers and delivering products in an Agile environment.
  • Experience working with global engineering teams, especially teams co‑located across India, North America, and/or Europe.
  • Proven skills in measuring software engineering key performance indicators.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) for engaging engineers, stakeholders, executives, and business partners.
  • High personal initiative, integrity, and leadership, with the ability to operate independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate with distributed Cloud Operations and platform engineers, acting as both a technical and product leader.
  • Experience training engineers on SDLC practices (a strong plus).
  • Ability to prioritize effectively, aligning features with product vision, business goals, technology constraints, schedules, and budgets.
  • Experience working with distributed teams across time zones, building strong working relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Reliability & Observability: Experience in observability (metrics, logs, traces, SLIs/SLOs) and the ability to work closely with platform teams on capacity planning and incident prevention/post‑mortems.
  • Certifications (nice to have):
    • Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner (A‑CSPO)
    • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
    • Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
