Job Summary

Technical Writer responsible for creating documentation for multiple company products, with a strong focus on public product release notes. The role emphasizes clarity, consistency, and precision in all written materials.

 

The ideal candidate is self-motivated yet highly collaborative, adaptable, enjoys tackling challenges, and excels at building strong relationships and communicating effectively.

 

What Your Impact Will Look Like

  • Edit, format, publish, and share internal and external release notes for multiple products.
  • Rewrite and re-format product, engineering, marketing, and training/implementation communications and documentation for utilization on the support portal.
  • Follow set style guide and processes and work collaboratively for ongoing improvement and adaptation.
  • Use logic and general software understanding to strategically ensure accuracy and effective communication approaches.
  • Assist in the work and planning related to documentation migration projects from external CMSs into Granicus’ Salesforce Knowledge Base.
  • Share the product team's customer communications with other internal teams as instructed and as needed.
  • Work closely with multiple teams to increase and enable consistency and clarity of customer communications.
  • Monitor and document the organization, usage, review, and updating of the support portal content.
  • Work with AI tools and other teams to review and update the Knowledge Base.
  • Edit and review other writers' work as requested.
  • Track, collect, and compile product documentation data for statistical analysis and reports.
  • Attend meetings with other departments to learn about projects and requirements.
  • Use provided tools to follow established SOPs: 
    1. Jira tickets to track work and manage tasks
    2. Salesforce Knowledge Base for document creation and web display
    3. Confluence for internal documentation
    4. Wistia for video management
    5. Miro for planning and sharing the grouping and hierarchy of portal documentation
    6. Adobe and Word for editing attachments
    7. AI - Forethought and ChatGPT

You Will Love This Job If You Have

  • A degree in technical writing or 2+ years of directly related experience
  • The ability to communicate well with team members and people and teams from various backgrounds and with different working styles  
  • Experience with documentation management
  • Experience with writing to audiences with different needs and levels of understanding
  • You are detail-oriented, with excellent problem-solving skills
  • You have effective project and task management skills, including challenging the status quo and identifying needs to re-assess existing approaches/processes
  • You are adaptable, enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic environment, and have comfort with multi-tasking
  • You demonstrate an ability to meet tight deadlines without compromising accuracy
  • Skills in utilizing the provided tools are a plus
