The Software Engineer - 4 role at Granicus is for developers growing their technical and software development skills developing products in a SaaS based environment. They take on challenging technical tasks and consistently make significant contributions to all areas of the Granicus product suite.

As an SE-4, you will design and develop complex, scalable applications across multiple products. You will work on Java/Spring Boot backend systems, React.js/Node.js frontends, and leverage AWS services for deployment and scalability. You will also contribute to building agentic applications and use AI-powered developer tools to accelerate development. Python expertise is a nice-to-have for AI/agent integrations. This role requires strong technical depth and the ability to influence architecture decisions.

• Design and develop full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, React.js, and Node.js.
• Architect and implement backend services and APIs ensuring scalability and performance.
• Build agentic applications, including creating and orchestrating multi-agent systems.
• Integrate applications and agents with third-party systems (Salesforce, SharePoint, internal tools).
• Develop responsive, user-friendly interfaces using React.js and modern UI frameworks.
• Ensure best practices in code quality, security, and performance optimization.
• Implement and manage AWS services for application hosting, scaling, and monitoring.
• Use AI developer tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar to improve productivity and code quality.
• Participate in architecture discussions, provide technical guidance, and influence design decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (AI/ML, DevOps, Product) in agile environments.

• 9–12 years of software engineering experience with strong full-stack expertise.
• Expert-level proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for backend development.
• Solid experience in frontend development using React.js, TypeScript, and modern UI frameworks.
• Experience using developer AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or equivalents.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and event-driven systems.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, API Gateway, CloudWatch, etc.).
• Familiarity with Node.js for backend or integration tasks.
• Experience using AI-powered developer tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git, and agile methodologies.
• Strong experience developing unit tests, integration tests, E2E tests, load/stress Strong experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL)
• Strong understanding of AWS services, including S3, Lambda functions, EKS and DynamoDB.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Proficient in using version control systems, such as Git, Gitlab.

Nice to Have

• Python expertise for AI/agent integrations and automation workflows.
• Familiarity with agent-based systems, including basic understanding of A2A communication, exposure to LangFlow orchestration, and experience assisting in deploying multi-agent systems.
• Experience with LangChain, LangFlow, or similar frameworks for multi-agent orchestration.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes (EKS) and Terraform for infrastructure scaling.
• Knowledge of vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate) and cloud AI APIs (OpenAI, Claude, etc.).
• Contributions to open-source projects or interest in agentic systems.
