Job Summary

The Granicus Senior Quality Engineer contributes to the overall quality of multiple software platforms, executing on quality initiatives throughout the entire testing lifecycle. Responsibilities include test case creation, manual testing, defect analysis, status reporting, and generating metrics as required. Experience with web & API automated testing is mandatory. Must possess excellent people-skills and be comfortable mentoring others.

 

Granicus releases new features and functionality frequently, and the QE team is on the cutting edge of everything we do. In this role you and your team become key product experts and drive how new features are implemented.

What Your Impact Will Look Like

  • Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for new product development and enhancements.
  • Architect and maintain robust automation frameworks, ensuring scalability and reliability.
  • Mentor junior Quality Engineers, fostering best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and deployment.
  • Perform API testing and automation for RESTful services.
  • Utilize tools such as Selenium, Cypress, CodeceptJS, and programming languages like Java or JavaScript.
  • Apply SQL for data validation and backend testing.
  • Conduct risk-based testing, identifying and mitigating potential issues to ensure stable releases.
  • Debug, triage, and escalate failures as necessary.
  • Ensure all quality criteria are met prior to product release.

You Will Love This Job If You Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related field; or software test related experience/knowledge
  • 9-12 years of software testing experience in a professional software development environment
  •  6+ years of automation testing
  • Experience with exploratory/edge/corner testing techniques and risk-based testing
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and quickly adjust in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Experience in Agile development environments.
  • Prior experience testing AI-driven products such as chatbots, agentic systems, and analytics dashboards.
  • Strong automation skills with ability to leverage AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) for test case generation and optimization.
  • Hands-on experience using AI-powered coding assistants to design and implement automated test frameworks.
  • Ability to leverage AI tools for generating, optimizing, and maintaining test cases across web and API layers.
  • Experience integrating AI-assisted automation scripts into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing and deployment.
  • Proven track record of improving test coverage and reducing script development time using AI-driven solutions.
  • Proficiency in cross-browser testing.
  • Familiarity with performance, load, and stress testing.
  • Background in SaaS environments.
  • Knowledge of AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
  • Ability to maintain traceability across requirements and test cases.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to guide and support team members.
