The Quality Engineer role at Granicus combines manual testing expertise with automated testing skills, specifically using CodeceptJS for end-to-end automation. This position is ideal for quality engineers who excel at both exploratory testing and building robust automated test suites. The successful candidate will balance hands-on manual testing with developing and maintaining CodeceptJS automation frameworks to ensure comprehensive coverage of our SaaS products. Quality Engineers in this role are expected to think critically about test strategy, identify areas where automation provides the most value, and execute thorough manual testing where human insight is essential. They work closely with development teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines while maintaining high standards for manual testing practices. 

• Collaborate with product management and business stakeholders to deliver SaaS based solutions.
• Communicate and work effectively with others to create great high quality software.
• Proactively try to improve our processes and the quality of the products we deliver.
• Come up with technical solutions to problems and push them through to implementation.
• Assist the team in troubleshooting issues both in production and in the lower test environments.
• Design and develop automated end-to-end system tests.
• Design and develop automated API tests.
• Design and develop accessibility tests.
• Design and develop security tests.
• Mentor and provide technical training to team members. Help train and onboard new hires. Share knowledge with the broader engineering team.
• Champion the development team’s core values.
• AI Enablement to enhance speed, automation, and transformation.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate, implement, or work with AI technologies, tools, or frameworks.
• Experience using AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, etc.,) to improve development productivity.
• Stay updated on emerging trends in AI and actively integrate relevant tools or practices into workflows 

 

• 5+ years of experience in testing, shipping, and supporting production-quality SaaS based web applications.
• Experience testing within an agile development process.
• Experience with exploratory/edge/corner testing techniques and risk-based testing.
• Experience using automation test frameworks such as Selenium, Robot, CodeceptJS, etc to develop automated end-to-end and API tests. 
• Solid knowledge and experience coding in Python or similar language.
• Strong knowledge and experience in web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, etc).
• Knowledge of database concepts (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL).
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and quickly adjust in a rapidly changing environment.
• Experience with mentoring team members.
• Commitment to quality and the craft of software testing.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Passion for learning new things and the ability to do so quickly.
• Passion to learn E2E Automation and API Automation.
