Granicus is seeking a skilled Product Owner to join our engineering team and help build tools that transform how government works. As the Product Owner, you will gather business requirements from cross‑functional stakeholders, shape the product vision, and work closely with engineering to deliver high‑quality, customer‑focused outcomes.
You will define clear acceptance criteria, validate delivery outcomes, and manage a prioritized product backlog. In this role, you are expected to actively leverage AI capabilities to enhance product discovery, refine requirements, accelerate delivery, and improve decision making. This includes using AI to generate insights, analyze patterns, optimize workflows, and drive efficiency across the product lifecycle, while still applying strong product judgment and leadership independent of AI.
You are accountable for delivering roadmap concepts, maintaining product quality, and continuously identifying opportunities to incorporate AI‑driven innovation into both the product experience and internal processes. As a Senior Product Owner, you will balance AI‑enabled acceleration with the foundational skills of product strategy, stakeholder alignment, and disciplined execution.
Experience using AI‑powered tools to accelerate product discovery, decision making, and execution. Strong exposure to AI‑assisted analysis, pattern detection, and insight generation across the product lifecycle. Ability to evaluate AI‑driven opportunities, understand model‑enabled behaviors, and incorporate AI‑supported forecasting, prioritization, and scenario modeling into product strategy. Comfort working with non‑deterministic systems, AI‑enhanced workflows, and emerging AI capabilities that influence customer experience and product quality.
At the same time, you bring the foundational product leadership skills needed to operate independently, make sound decisions, and lead teams without relying solely on AI.

Ability to operate confidently in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities

Ability to use AI tools to evaluate customer signals, identify patterns, and surface insights that inform product direction
Experience applying AI‑driven forecasting, scenario modeling, and risk analysis
Ability to distinguish when AI adds value and when traditional product instincts should lead
Strong problem‑solving skills with a detective mindset, using qualitative reasoning and AI‑generated insights to uncover root causes
Ability to break down ambiguous problems using structured thinking supported by AI‑powered analysis
Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently or lead cross‑functional teams through complex decisions
Ability to influence without authority using data, narrative, and AI‑supported insights
Ability to champion change and guide teams through evolving priorities and new technologies
Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization
Ability to leverage AI tools to streamline communication, documentation, and alignment across distributed teams
Experience using AI to enhance clarity, storytelling, and cross‑functional understanding
Ability to work effectively with distributed teams across time zones
Ability to flex between technical depth and business context, especially when evaluating AI‑driven features
Passion for customers and delivering high‑quality user experiences, including those enhanced by AI
Strong understanding of product development processes, tradeoffs, and lifecycle management
3+ years working with technical teams, product development, or product management
Experience working with AI‑enabled workflows or AI‑driven product capabilities is a strong plus
Experience with SaaS or web‑based products and modern product delivery practices
