Job Summary

The Senior Software Engineer role at Granicus is for developers growing their technical and software development skills developing products in a SaaS based environment. This role requires strong software engineering expertise in a SaaS environment, with demonstrated ability to apply AI-assisted engineering practices, prompt engineering, and AI/ML integration patterns to improve development velocity, code quality, automation, and customer value across the Granicus platform.

This role requires strong software engineering expertise in driving innovation across our platform by leveraging AI-assisted engineering practices. and AI/ML integration patterns to improve development velocity, code quality, and customer value across the Granicus platforms through the adoption of AI-driven solutions. They take on challenging technical tasks and consistently make significant contributions to all areas of the Granicus product suite.  Software Engineers are proficient in multiple different technologies and gain on-the-job experience applying their knowledge and experience in improving the design and quality of our products. They understand the deployment process and support our applications in all environments. As they gain expertise, they share their knowledge with the broader engineering team. #India

What Your Impact Will Look Like

  • Learn about and uphold the Development team’s core values: Test-Driven Development, Collective Ownership, Agile Development, and Egoless Programming 
  • Write high-quality software using test-focused practices 
  • Be a core contributor to Granicus's automated testing suites 
  • Develop bug fixes and feature changes for at least one application within the Granicus product suite 
  • Collaborate with your Scrum team, the Development team, and the broader Product Organization 
  • Be a participating member of the broader Granicus technology organization
  • Engineering Velocity: Accelerated delivery through AI-assisted development tools and practices
  • Quality & Reliability: Improved testing, monitoring, and operational resilience through AI-driven SDLC practices
  • Innovation: Introduction of AI-driven capabilities across the platform
  • Customer Value: Reduced manual effort and enhanced accessibility and compliance outcomes through AI-enabled solutions

You Will Love This Job If You Have

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Ruby, Rails, PHP, REST APIs, GraphQL, Background Jobs, Delayed Job.
  • Build and maintain scraping frameworks using Playwright, or similar technologies.
  • Deploy multi-agent systems to production with robust monitoring and failover mechanisms.
  • Create responsive, user-friendly frontend components using HAML, React.js, jQuery, CoffeeScript, Bootstrap or similar frameworks.
  • Implement real-time interfaces using WebSocket for dynamic data flows.
  • Strong testing skill using RSpec, Cucumber, FactoryGirl, Postman
  • Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and help drive system architecture decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (AI/ML, DevOps, Product) in agile environments
  • Strong database skill on PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB
  • Good understanding of CI/CD pipeline, gitlab, github and DevOps.
  • Good to have AWS, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • AI Competencies -
  • Productivity - Hands-on experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor, or similar platforms to accelerate development and improve code quality.
  • Customer Value - Demonstrated experience in designing, building, or integrating AI agents and intelligent workflows will be highly preferred.
  • Domain - Strong domain knowledge relevant to the product or industry context.
